Ayumi Tsuchiya, *Circle Song* and *The Path of Sound*

Summary

A special exhibition featuring artworks by Ayumi Tsuchiya—*Circle Song* and *Path of Sound*—in which wooden balls are rolled across a xylophone to create music. These artworks, originally presented at the Museum on Echigo-Tsumari, MonET during the winter of 2025 as part of the Special Exhibition “Captain Monet and the Voyage Across the Great Snowfields,” will continue to be on view at the NUNAGAWA Campus.

[Admission] Included in the NUNAGAWA Campus admission fee (Adults: 800 yen, Elementary and Junior High School Students: 400 yen)

In addition to playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” by rolling wooden balls, you can also create your own songs by rearranging the xylophone keys.

Ayumi Tsuchiya

After working in the corporate sector, she enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tama Art University, where she studied spatial design.In 2012, she graduated at the top of her class from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tama Art University. Working under the concept of “See, Touch, Hear,” she creates handmade artworks entirely by herself using self-taught woodworking techniques. In addition to exhibiting at art museums, science museums, and art events, she has collaborated with companies such as MUJI, Karimoku, Benesse, and Tokyo Disney Resort. She received a Merit Award at The One Show (New York), one of the world’s three major advertising awards.
