Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1948. Raised on goat’s milk. Has been drawing on the ground and digging holes since childhood, and continues to do so to this day. Currently resides in Kobe. His live painting performances, featuring improvisational drawings using the “Super-Ha” technique, take place mainly on the streets, where he paints on giant canvases using chopsticks for hands and feet, sweeping passersby into a cosmic explosion of the vast universe! Lately, he’s been obsessed with kneading clay. His picture books include *Enso-kun Rides the Train*, *Ghost Drive*, *Mountain Disco*, *Kobekko*, and *Chinchiraka and the Giant Man*. His art books include *Koji Suzuki’s Great Magic Art Book* and *The Sky Slide*. In 2019, NHK Educational TV’s *Sunday Art Museum* aired an episode titled “The World of Koji Suzuki.”
