Ishimatsu Takeyoshi, “Tanokura D.I.Y House iju”

The era when work dictated where you lived is over! Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work has become the norm, and shared offices have gained attention, signaling the end of an era where work dictated where people lived. “Tanokura D.I.Y House iju” is a club that, with the support of local residents and designers, uses “DIY” as its keyword to facilitate a smooth transition for such newcomers. [Matsudai Rice Fields Bank 2026] A Day to Enjoy the Summer Satoyama

Let's enjoy summer in Matsudai to the fullest! During the day, we'll split into three groups (grass cutting, wildlife observation, and vegetable harvesting and cooking) to fully experience summer in the satoyama. In the evening, let's enjoy a BBQ while watching fireworks launched right up close.

Summer Mystery-Solving Field Museum Notebook 2026
— Discover the Mysteries of the Satoyama Through Art —

Visit the artworks and stamp stations scattered throughout the Field Museum and solve the puzzles using keywords related to the satoyama landscape! Along the way, you’ll encounter artworks by artists from around the world, as well as The Rice Fields, forests, and the insects and flowers that call this place home.

Infinite and Finite Stacks / Flexible Stacking

Collecting and stacking natural objects such as stones and trees is a form of play, a form of marking, and a primal act of creation that has at times supported religious beliefs. We hope your "wild" instincts sharpen through the workshop.

Echigo Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo: Satoyama Buffet

Our buffet-style meals feature an abundance of rice harvested from the Rice Fields right before your eyes, as well as fresh vegetables grown by local farmers you know personally. The menu offers about 20 dishes, all inspired by and adapted from local and home-style cuisine.

Let’s make “Kitchen Lithographs" with artist Kinukawa Yasunori, using chocolate, aluminum foil, and coca-cola.

Experience a mysterious printing technique that takes advantage of the repulsion between water and oil, using items found in the kitchen! You can print 2 to 3 sheets using the same plate within the allotted time.
