The energetic local mothers serve set meals prepared with love, featuring an abundance of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and a warm, nostalgic flavor. In a traditional thatched-roof farmhouse over 100 years old, relax and enjoy the bounty of the countryside and conversation with the mothers, all served on ceramic tableware.

This satisfying set meal features miso-marinated grilled Tsumari pork as the main dish, accompanied by small side dishes made with seasonal wild mountain vegetables and local produce. The rich depth of the miso and the savory umami of the pork are complemented by side dishes with gentle seasoning that highlights the natural flavors of the ingredients. ・Assorted Wild Mountain Vegetable Tempura 500 yen (Tax included) This dish lets you enjoy the flavors of the season with freshly picked wild mountain vegetables fried to a light, crisp texture.The slight bitterness and rich aroma stand out, allowing you to fully savor the natural flavors of the ingredients. It’s also recommended if you’d like to add an extra dish to your set meal.
The rice used at Ubusuna House is delicious terraced rice harvested from the “Keiji Rice Fields” in the Higashishimogumi settlement, where Ubusuna House is located. Refills are available. Please take your time and enjoy the deeply flavorful Ubusuna Set Meal while taking in the scenic views of the rural mountainside.

We accept lunch reservations for groups of 15 or more throughout the year. Ubusuna House is closed on regular holidays. Please contact us regarding opening hours. Please email Ubusuna House at least two weeks in advance, specifying the date, time, number of people, and group name.

Let’s celebrate the arrival of spring with the local mothers at Ubusuna House, which has weathered an especially harsh winter. Harvest the wild greens that have sprouted, nourished by the abundant meltwater, and enjoy them as freshly fried tempura alongside our spring-exclusive menu. Join the local mothers on a walk through the village to discover the many bounties of spring.
