The “Tour de Tsumari,” a cycling event that winds through the beautiful rural landscapes of Echigo-Tsumari, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. This tour, which takes riders past The Rice Fields, rural scenery, and scattered artworks, offers a unique experience where participants can enjoy encounters with the landscape, physical activity, and the local community. The warm encouragement and hospitality from the villages along the route are also a distinctive charm of this region.
Launched in 2006 from architect Ito Yoshiaki’s vision to “make the act of moving itself an artwork,” this event has reached its milestone 20th anniversary thanks to the support of so many people. This special year, join us for a summer ride through the landscapes and memories of Echigo-Tsumari. We sincerely look forward to your participation. Additionally, we have prepared an original 20th-anniversary jersey as a participation gift.
