In order to develop this project to revitalize the former Akiyamago Tsunan Town Elementary School Oakasawa Branch building as a new type of museum in Akiyamago from 2022, we have continued our research on Akiyamago’s folk customs, beliefs, history, and technology. This time, we will exhibit plans of the progress of the project. Akiyamago has many elements, but we focused on the two main elements of “technology” and “faith” and considered the philosophy of “unexplored region” that can be read from the life in Akiyamago. Akiyamago has been focused on as an “unexplored region” since the modern era, but the folk customs and beliefs of Akiyamago are widely gradated with no boundaries with those of Hokushin, Tsunan, and Tokamachi, and life in Akiyamago has long been associated with the admission area where it is difficult to define the boundaries. We hope to create a new place to share with people from all walks of life. *We are also collecting folk tools and other materials from Akiyamago in the exhibition hall. Please feel free to bring them in.
