Enjoy Echigo-Tsumari in winter with artworks and activities that take advantage of the charm of snow! Programs that can be enjoyed by all five senses, from adults to children, are available from late January with Special Exhibition and mini-events that match the characteristics of the facilities and artworks. On the official tour, which is recommended for those who are anxious about driving on snowy roads, you will be welcomed by a mother’s hospitality and enjoy “Yukimi Gozen,” a local dish unique to this area of heavy snowfall. The special exhibition is not only about art, but also about snow activities around the Matsudai area. (Snow activities will be held mainly at “Nunagawa Campus” from 1/25 (Sat.) to 2/9 (Sun.) and “Matsudai NOHBUTAIi” from 2/22 (Sat.) to 3/9 (Sun.).

The second installment of “87-Day Square Adventure with Captain MonET” was a big hit at “Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2024”. A great adventure in the snow with continuing exhibits and new works.

I believe that snow sculptures have the power to unite people with different feelings like a family because they are colorless.
Miyake, the artist of this exhibition, visited Tokamachi for the first time on the day of the Snow Festival. He felt that the snow sculptures, illuminated by the darkness of the night, were somehow divine, like a ”double image of the sacred and the profane,” and he image the snow sculpture making process s such.

Satoyama Snow Amusement Park

FC Echigo-Tsumari will conduct stretches that lead to the regeneration of the body’s natural motor functions. Let’s enjoy exercising with FC Echigo-Tsumari athletes who have learned the method of “R-body project Inc. After the exercise class, participants can enjoy viewing artworks at the NUNAGAWA Campus and Matsudai History Museum, snow activities, and a hot spring bath at Akashinoyu.

FC Echigo-Tsumari will participate in the “Tokamachi Snow Festival” event on either 2/15 (Sat) . Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
For lunch, you will enjoy wintertime cuisine filled with the wisdom and culture of the snow country. The stopping place for lunch “Yukimi Gozen” will change depending on the course, so please enjoy the local cuisine and hospitality of each village. For those who are not comfortable driving on snowy roads or those who come by public transportation, we recommend that you have a driver who is familiar with Echigo-Tsumari’s roads.
