A New Direction in Charcoal Sculpture Using Giant Trees from Akiyamago
The artist behind the “Phlogiston” series—charcoal sculptures created by carbonizing wood—has been presenting installations featuring trees and photographs from Akiyamago since 2022. For this exhibition, the artist will install an artwork made from horse chestnut wood within a large hollow in a massive horse chestnut log.
