About the artwork

Matsudai Castle stands atop a 384-meter peak. Within the castle, which has long overlooked the town of Matsudai, a dazzling, otherworldly realm is created. An installation using gold and silver leaf is being created on the second floor of Matsudai Castle.“At the center of a taut space adorned with silver leaf stands a golden tea room finished in gold leaf: Laxudai. Inside this tea room, various paintings are depicted, and it quietly awaits guests with its resplendent appearance.” (Artist’s comment)
