Arakaki Mina

Japan

Creating works primarily inspired by elements discovered in everyday life, with a focus on the night’s darkness and the light from windows and street lamps. Within the untouched landscapes influenced by rapid economic growth, the artist examines the trends in daily life and societal dynamics, attempting to capture both external and internal expressions. Recent activities involve mural creation for stores, collaborations, and research along riverbanks.
Key exhibitions include “Seeping Lights” (2023 / Heimlichkeit Nikai, Tokyo), the solo exhibition “Here We Live” (2018 / Germany Culture Center OAG Lobby, Tokyo), and participation in numerous other exhibitions. In 2023, the artist joined the artist-in-residence program at Kunstnarhuset Messen in Norway.
