Australia House was built in 2012 as a proof of relationship between Japan and Australia, a symbol of recovery from the earthquake. During the period when the residence program is not implemented, we are open for general guests. Please enjoy your accommodation experience in the architectural space designed by the artist, artworks installed inside and outside by just one of you, and great location with abundant nature surrounding.

• 【Booking Notice】
  -Australia House is located in the mountains. Please note that it is also an area where many insects and creatures live.
  – Australia House surrounded by calm villages. Please stay with your consideration for others at all time of day and night.
  -There are artworks inside and outside. If the artwork is damaged or malfunctions due to the customer’s carelessness, a claim for compensation may be made.
  -For design reasons, there are some places can be dangerous for children. We cannot take the reservation for children only. During staying, please take care about the children.
  -Staff will not be resident in Australia House. In particular, please note staff will be absent at night.
  – Local people are in charge of operation staff. Please note we cannot provide guidance or support in foreign languages.
  – No smoking in the house. There is a smoking area just outside of the house. There is no ashtray.

  Please contact the booking office as soon as possible if you wish to cancel the stay.
  All the guests must pay cancellation penalty fees depend on how in advance you announce the cancellation. Please see a list of prices below.

Catering services

Echigo-Matsudai Satoyama Shokudo has started a catering service for dinner and breakfast for guests staying at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale accommodations.
They use ingredients unique to Echigo-Tsumari, such as seasonal vegetables grown in the region, rice, and Tsumari pork.

Price (tax included): Dinner and breakfast from ￥5,000, dinner only from ￥3,500, breakfast only from ￥2,000
