"A Field Museum of Art, Food, and Agriculture Beginning with the NOHBUTAI"

Events will be held in accordance with the seasons to allow visitors to directly experience the fun, interesting, and comfortable atmosphere of the satoyama through hands-on experiences at the field museum located behind MOHBUTAI. This is a program unique to Echigo-Tsumari that allows visitors to learn and experience the richness of the land as well as visit artworks scattered around Joyama.

Yomogi-shobu (mugwort iris) and rice field vacation experience

Participants will experience the traditional Yomogi-shobu (Japanese iris) ceremony held on
Boys’ Festival, and enjoy the style “rice field vacation,” when everyone takes a break after the busy rice-planting season.

Walking in Joyama: Enjoy iris, hydrangea and rice balls

Explore the field museum for a beautiful area of irises and hydrangeas. Let’s enjoy a walk in the satoyama with a empty stomach. Let’s have a delicious meal.
