If you want to visit Echigo-Tsumari in spring, we recommend the official tour that runs through May 6.
Here are the attractions of the “Echigo-Tsumari Tour Satoyama Buffet & Echigo-Tsumari Winter Tour to Taste Fresh Greenery and Wild Vegetables” running from April 27 (Sat) to April 29 (Mon) and from May 3 (Fri) to May 6 (Mon).


Attraction (1) "Movement

The official tour departs from Echigo Yuzawa Station. The Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train stops at this station, making it easy to access from distant places. When viewing the artworks on your own, there are many things to consider, such as the order in which to visit the artworks, where to have lunch, driving and transfer times, etc. With the official tour, you will meet your guide at the reception desk, board the bus, and then simply enjoy the tour. During the tour, the tour guide will explain the history of the festival and the characteristics of each area. The official tour guides are staff members and guide supporters who love visiting artworks and interacting with visitors, so they have a variety of specialties. Many visitors look forward to the guided tours the most.

The artworks scattered around Echigo-Tsumari, which is rich in nature, look different depending on the season. Even if you have already visited these places once, you will discover new and interesting ways of seeing them depending on the time of year, the guide and the members of the tour. Lunch at Ubusuna House
The 100-year-old Ubusuna House restaurant is an old thatched thatched house, and the building itself is dotted with works of art.
The second floor is a pottery exhibition space consisting of three tea rooms, and the restaurant is also a work of art.

Local mothers serve seasonal small bowls of vegetables they grow themselves and wild vegetables from the satoyama, as well as a main dish. You can taste fresh and flavorful delicacies.
