“Ryōkan in the Snow”, a performance on snow by Tanaka Min, will be held on February 23, 2024. Since private vehicles are not allowed to enter the venue, a shuttle bus will be available on the day of the event, but you can also view the performance on the official tour that includes a guide and lunch. In addition to viewing “Ryōkan in the Snow,” visitors can enjoy a special lunch called “Yukimi Gozen” during the tour. Local people will serve the dish on lacquerware once used for weddings and funerals, using locally grown ingredients. Both one-day and overnight tours are available, and overnight stays are available at the Katakuri House, a renovated former elementary school where visitors can enjoy the overwhelming snowy scenery and hot springs.
