Discovering light, undulating bodies
An avant-garde dance duo by Suzuki Fumie and Iguchi Keiko is active both in and outside Japan. Their performances are based on poetic expressions themed around “living humanely” and improvisation as a sensory experimental theatre. “While being responsible for destructions, being able to find the light of ‘hope’ and move forward even in any adversity is also what it means to be human.” With such a concept in mind, they attempt to express the sensation of “undulation” by reflecting on the history, songs, wishes, and the interplay of light and shadow that have been passed on for generations in the land of Niigata.
