The concept for this artwork stems from road construction I once witnessed in front of my residence. One day, a large square hole was dug in the road before my eyes, and work began. Then, after some time, the road was repaved as if nothing had happened, and the underground cavity was filled to the brim with water. It was a firewater reservoir construction project. This process suspended the mass of water in limbo, between existence and non-existence. Witnessing this construction led me to the conviction that the very substance of facts or existence is precarious and erotic.I wanted to present the space between real water (or things) and imagined water (or things), or the vibrating zone where they meet. First, by entering the inner cavity of the steel structure, I dissolved the artwork into part of the architecture. By doing so, I aimed to neutralize as much as possible the material presence of the iron sealing the water, shifting the experience of water into an experience of the conceptual realm.
