Since 1970s, the artist has been producing sculptures using burnt wood, water, soil and gold based upon core forms including “circle” and “cavitary”. The 10m tree trunk was hollowed out, curved and carbonised and its surface looked rough but delicate and soft at the same time. It also looked like a boat floating on the Kiyotsu river running alongside the museum. The artwork revealed every trace of the entire production process also expressed the human activities as well as vestiges of energy and impulse of life. Material: Wood
