Round pebbles collected in the Shinano River were placed over the basins spread in a room. The artist poured water into each basin, one by one, imagining the beautiful rice terraces filled with water. The surface of the water-covered black basins reflects the shapes of pebbles. Seeing the arrangement placed in the room of a 300-year-old house, the owner lit the Buddhist altar, saying, “this became a wonderful memorial service for our ancestors.”
