The artist, who had moved to Tokamachi City and was working hard building cottages received a powerful stimulus from the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial. He exhibited a group of cottages, including a unique one resembling the “House of Light” of James Turrel. All of the cottages have been built by the artist over a period of about ten years, and gained popularity as they were able to accommodate visitors.
