A memorial artwork commemorating a monthly ceremony from the olden days known as the “Assembly of the 23rd night”, where everyone from the village whether Buddhist or otherwise gathered together. A small landmark is now all that is left of this meeting site, which sits next to an an agricultural reservoir that has not been used for decades. Somehow over the years, this monthly assembly has become somewhat lost in history and the background landmark – a small tower – has also been forgotten.
The artwork floats on this disused reservoir next to the landmark of these meetings, and attempts to revive both the meaning and the history of these assemblies.
