Patterns are traces of human lives revealing themselves from their root. The artist has created patterns of Tokamachi by interpreting the townspeople’s lives and exhibiting them at two venues. At the Tokamachi City Museum, he installed a three-dimensional work using hemp, which is symbolic of this town; at the gallery on the shopping street, he developed museum works into pattern design products to protect people against disasters.
