An artwork to capture history and document memories of each family in the Akakura village. The artist will present a large scale painting inspired by Scuola di Atene by Raffaello Sanzio in the Vatican palace. Aancient Athenian philosophers such as Socrates and Plato in the original painting will be replaced by people of the village. The record of interview conducted with all the residents of the village will also be shown. In 2022, the artist gives an update on “The School of Akakura” by bringing a new paired work consisting of painting and installation.
