About the artwork

For this work the artist combined old photographs of Tsumari borrowed from the neighbours with contemporary photographs taken by himself. The photographs were bound in books arranged to contrast the old and the new Tsumari. The books and the films were then displayed in a grand and worshipful manner in the main hall of Saieiji Temple in Kawanishi.
