Tracing the artist’s philosophy through 70 years of drawing
This exhibition traces the creative journey of Ilya Kabakov, who passed away in 2023. Born in the former Soviet Union (now Ukraine) and resided in Russia for many years, Kabakov’s artistic legacy is explored in this showcase. While he left behind numerous works at the ETAT, this exhibition primarily focuses on his drawings, including his graduation project from the 1950s, presented to the world for the first time. Additionally, the exhibition features Kabakov’s later works, which incorporate new depictions into his previous monochrome pieces.
