Experience ‘Yourself’ as You Explore Takizawa Village Using VR
This work was inspired by the village of Takizawa, which has a unique view with its airy, open spaces between houses and the ridges surrounding the village. The artist, who has created a number of works that encourage a round-trip between reality and fiction based on ordinary everyday events, redefines the VR device that is usually used to go “somewhere other than here” as a device that focuses on “here, not somewhere else” in this work. This work offers viewers an experience that questions “what is the world,” “what is art,” “what is a village,” and “what is yourself.”
