Instead of representing nature as perceived directly by people’s five senses, the artist’s diverse works capture the intertwining reverberations of people’s impressions and recollections of nature. The artist puts into form the beautiful aspects of the nature of Echigo-Tsumari—land, wind, light, sounds, smells, capturing the translated fragments and reverberations of her own impressions and recollections through a variety of vivid colors and lines. The works were exhibited in the Ueno village community center, which was renovated with the help of the local villagers and transformed into a gallery space.
