Star-filled Forest

About the artwork

This was a project to make star-shaped sunlight fall down through trees in a forest by floating a star-shaped, artificial sun high up in the night sky. For the last eight years the artist has presented projects to transform the shape of the sunlight falling down through trees and leaves, which are normally seen as round. This time the artist’s largest project ever was realized outdoors, using a real forest. Each visitor received a “star-catcher” in order to see clear star shapes. The nocturnal forest was filled with children running with star-catchers in their hands, cheering, “Look, I caught the stars!”
