A stage consisting of a giant mirror reflecting a section of the sky was installed in a campground looking out onto Mt. Yoneyama and Mt. Kariha-kurohime. To exclude any man-made structures from the field of view, the piece was oriented directly north. A lawn was grown in front of the mirror and a stone dug up from the area was placed as bench. Since 2005, the artist has continued to contribute works as part of the “Sky Catcher” series. Although dependent on the weather, on clear days the work received numerous comments along the lines of “the sky looks especially deep” and “this is a new way of looking at the sky.” (Michio Horikawa)
