About the artwork

The artist was greatly impressed by the aim of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial and made a visit in 2003. She encountered a beautiful park by Casagrande & Rintala. Using the collection of photographs of the grounds taken that year in Echigo-Tsumari and other regions, the artist exhibited her own project, “Embrace: Stone Garden,” in the park she had seen three years earlier. The grounds of various regions gathered here and became a collaboration that continued beyond the three year’ s time.
