Information

About the artwork

In this quiet space, 22 small branches of unvarnished wood, whittled and carved by the artist, were gathered together. All plants, large or small, are inhabited by spirits. Out of concern over forest destruction and the neglected Japanese mountains, the spirits of trees summoned a meeting. Their voices of anger and sorrow seem to come out from this arrangement. In the permanent exhibition, air dozing off by the wind-flowing porch was expressed. The shape of the air was formed by bamboos, and changed its figure gradually over time, taking 50 days and engraving the flow of time.
