A space has a nature of its own, that carries its manual for us to approach. According to such manual, we’re in it harmoniously. What more do we expect from a sports stadium? What do we want from a subway train? What do we gain from a travel place? What will the Antarctic give us? However, when autonomous space crashes with another, it creates scenarios. Not the kind of extension from the department store to an urban street, but a kind of crash that occurs when hitchhikin in a desert. Such a multi-layered space is free from all manual. This is a space where one can use a bank without the manual, where a space shuttle without a manual takes off, and where the wires of a nuclear time bomb can be disconnected without any manual. Bartering takes place in a swimming pool, somebody’s living room props up in a street, a plaza exists inside a factory, and a rice paddy inside an igloo. Like oases in deserts, we witness countless possible spaces far and near.
