The artist’s plan was to create a pavilion which can also be utilised as a Noh or Kyogen stage. Reflective material was used for the roof, based on the image of butterfly wings or a kaleidoscope. The artist’s intent was to create a visual overlap of the scenery of the nearby satoyama and beautiful actors’ costumes on the stage. In the winter, the roof can be folded vertically in preparation for the heavy snowfall.
[Notice of Partial Unavailability of Viewing]

Please note that the exterior of the pavilion will be open for viewing, but the floor will be closed to visitors. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding.
