This was a project to connect two satoyama—Echigo and Mimasaka—by using Tsuyama-made paper to repaper the shoji screens in a house in Echigo-Tsumari. Rainy days continued, making the environment completely unsuitable and difficult for shoji repapering. A texture unique to traditional Japanese paper, involving how the patterns of wood panels adhere to the paper during production and how the unbleached, natural color gradually changes to white, was brought to a house in Tsumari.
