About the artwork

A Shrine for Predicting Your Journey, Through Audience Participation”
Once a women’s clothing and liquor store until 2023, this space has undergone a transformation into a shrine-themed stall and resting area, complete with a map of Echigo-Tsumari. Here, recommendations from locals and visitors, as well as offerings from arts festivals, converge in the form of “omikuji” (fortune-telling paper strips). This shrine serves as a venue for collaborative residency productions, performances, and the development and practice of appreciation programs. Additionally, limited events such as shaved ice sales are held regularly.
