About the artwork

To surround is to divide something from something else. To protect it from something. To enclose something. To put something away. So, surround what? From what? The artist contemplates deeply about the act of “surrounding.” Created in a corner of town, this lovely park comforts the hearts of passers by. The artist held repeated discussions with local people and revised the plan many times. A new playground for children was born in the community.
