Museum of the Constellation Families of Matsudai, completed with the collaboration of all the people in Matsudai is located in the corridor connecting Matsudai Station and the Matsudai No Butai. The work is meant to be the entrance to the Matsudai No Butai, to greet visitors with a sense of the personality of Matsudai. The approximately 1,500 colored bars lining the corridor are in colors chosen by each of the families in Matsudai; each has a yago (the traditional house name) on it. On the end of the corridor, at the entrance of the No Butai, a video monitor shows people in Matsudai acting out a heartfelt welcome. The Kohebi-tai, or Triennial supporters, did most of the information gathering in creating the work, deepening their relationships with the residents. Some of the residents, who had experienced being videotaped for a work of art for the first time in its creation, later brought their friends to the site to show off the work in which they performed.
