Reenactment of the Beginning of Herb Gathering in Shared Space – ‘Yama-no-Kuchi’
“The mountains were not merely habitats but also provided the very materials for the people of Akiyamago,” notes the artist. Through hands-on craftsmanship, the artist, who traverses various locales, creates a “source of materials from the mountains” using grass and trees native to the area. During the ETAT, visitors will engage in the gathering and processing of grass and trees, actively participating in the creation process sourced from the mountains. This endeavour also serves as a contemplation on ways to apply the wisdom and techniques cultivated in this region to modern times.
