About the artwork

Guided by words, places, and objects as clues, this project aims to discover lost objects and forgotten memories in order to complete the “Tent of Lost Items.” Prior to the Triennial, the artist held a workshop with local residents in which participants were asked to write down old tales and stories pertaining to everyday life on sheet of paper. She then created the “Tent of Lost Items” by sealing the paper into patchwork pockets. The same process was repeated during the Triennial, and more than 600 sheets of paper filled with participants’ memories were made alive in the artwork.
