The artist was fascinated by the beauty of this region’s landscape; by the rivers and mountains, little villages, deep valleys and flowing water, and the vivid contrast between them. By learning the history, hard labor and difficulty of growing rice in this community, she came to understand the reality of young generation being attracted to the cities. Using the clothes of local residents, she expressed the idea of “a bridge towards the mountains, a bridge across a river back to the origin, to where we came from.” The clothes of people from the older generation were placed towards the mountain side, while those of the children were placed near the road. This work carried the artist’ s wish to “connect the shores so that people could go back home to their origin over a bridge made of the people themselves.”
