About the artwork

Launched in 2012, the project aims to make choma, a kind of plant used for Echigo-chijimi, a relevant and contemporary material and expression. Numerous number of ramie-dyed fabric filled the space of a former water mill, reflecting the pattern of light on water in the middle.
