About the artwork

The Memories of a Clothes Store Inherited by a ‘Dragon’
This exhibition, curated by a young sculptor specializing in crafting animal sculptures from recycled materials, takes place within the walls of the former “Kanayama,” once a bustling clothes store in Owarino. Inside, vibrant dragons, painstakingly crafted from recycled materials and vividly painted through workshops conducted with local children, adorn the space. These majestic creatures breathe new life into the former store, imbued with the cherished memories of locals. Through this artistic endeavour, the artist seeks to preserve the essence of items that are often forgotten or lost in another form, symbolized by the presence of these dragons.
