The artists felt that Echigo-Tsumari was as if a satellite orbiting away from the center of Japan. In order to communicate the strong existence of the Echigo-Tsuamri, their installation which are inspired by the wisdoms of the life of snow country and consist of what they call “treasures” that they found in an abandoned houses occupies a void space at the entrance of the museum and welcome visitors. Furniture are also placed in the art space, allowing you to lie down and enjoy viewing the piece from below.
