About the artwork

What used to be a room that housed silk worms, mulberry branches run through the dim darkness and innumerable grasses and flowers descend from the ceiling. A flower fairy wearing a kimono appears mysteriously. The artist collected grasses and flowers found on the roadside, and plants in the satoyama that were dried and coated with paraffin. And literally buried the abandoned house with flowers. Taking in the view of the lotus lake, the Japanese style room allows light to enter, and paulownia trees and pine needles start their invasion across the floor. Screen and sliding doors are covered with dancing leaves, and new life is breathed into the old house.
