About the artwork

Photo exhibit of Katsuhito Nakazato, who has make it his life work to capture images of soil surfaces, displaying earth from various parts of Japan, including Niigata. In a separate space, photos and videos of hand-dug tunnel storehouses in Boso and Niigata are shown. Visitors can enjoy a trip to the center of the earth while coming and going between two areas.
