About the artwork

An Installation of Music Played by Farm Tools
Using locally sourced agricultural and folk tools transformed into musical instruments, this artwork produces sounds reminiscent of their original functions. Collaborating with students from Tsunan High School in the 8th iteration of ETAT, the saxophonist (artist) and students performed a collaboration performance. In 2023, the artwork was updated and relocated to Echigo-Tsumari “Kamigo Clove Theatre”. This year, a resident-participation orchestra led by the artist will be formed to perform.

#1 “Agricultural instruments”  / Site-Specific Artists in Echigo-Tsumari / Interviewed by Fram Kitagawa
