Glass tiles spread and ceramic chairs fired in a paper kiln line up along the riverbed of the Kiyotsu River. The sky and stars represent the immensity of time and space while the big footsteps suggest the existence of god. The soil of Tsumari was used for the chairs, marking a first step towards the creation of “Tsumari ware, pottery made in EchigoTsumari.” “The word ‘Eternal’ means ‘something that exists across time and space, with no beginning and no end.’ I wanted to express what might exist outside the solar system and beyond the darkness of the universe.” (Akira Yoshida)
