Under the themes of “people” and “heart,” the artist organized a series of 10 fabric projects working with a total of 1,000 people. For the “Flag Exhibition,” nearly 300 children wrote down their dreams of what they wanted to be 25 years in the future on the cloth, wishing for a community-building project that would make them want to remain in the area. The artist attempted to nurture a new generation who could take charge of Japanese and Niigata cultures, by reconsidering the fabric of Echigo, a local traditional industry, and conveying the rich hearts of the locals.
