This village has no Jizo shrine. The artist decided to make a place to rest the Spirit and the ancestors. For the outdoor exhibition, he used blocks that were lying under the eaves of a damaged house, maintaining its memory, to create a sacred tree. With stones and twigs, he made an “antenna” for calling the ancestors and planted flowers. For the thematic exhibition, a sacred tree was put up to invite the ancestors from outside into the house. Our current world was expressed by the floor full of pine needles, and a spiritual place was created to connect the current world to the world beyond. The sound of steps over the pine needles is a conversation between this life and the next world.
