When I remember how many persons’ understanding and cooperation made it possible to realize my vision of linking six municipalities in the Triennial area through a single artwork, I feel deeply touched. I collaborated with craftsmen from six municipalities to make wooden benches and sculptures based on six themes—the universe, wind, fire, water, soil, and wood. The craftsmen who worked with me on this project demonstrated pride, technique and sensitivity. Sometimes I worried about the unexpected styles and expressions emerging in these collaboration, but when I saw the installed work, I realized that a wider world of art exists that could never be created by one artist. Through working on this project, I was able to feel the invisible power art sustains and the thoughtfulness of the craftsmen who contributed to it.
