The artist wanted to create a work that used rice straw cultivated in the region, that would return to the soil, and that would create an opportunity for rethinking agriculture even for a generation unfamiliar with farming life. A tunnel made of straw appeared at the tip of the time-honored rice fields spreading along the Kiyotsu River. It whirled towards the center and hosted a small rice field in the center where rice grew vigorously. One year before the Triennial, local support was gathered during the autumn harvest season and straw was woven by the hands of the villagers. The artist herself also learned about agriculture in this process.
